A Business Executive with 30 years’ international experience in procurement, supply chain and finance in leading multinational corporations in the FMCG, pharma and packaging industries, Karin brings an in-depth understanding of customer perspective to Scoutbee.
Furthermore, Karin is excited about the power of digital and analytics and its potential to help procurement deliver sustainable business impact. Karin will strategically advise the company’s CEO Gregor Stühler and the leadership team on future trends, as well as supporting Scoutbee’s sales and product development teams.
Her expert knowledge and global network will be invaluable as Scoutbee focuses on growing its presence outside Europe, especially in the U.S market. As the latest addition to Scoutbee’s recently launched Strategic Advisory Board, Karin looks forward to getting started.
“Having the right supply base is more critical for business success than ever. This is a strategic and potentially very complex task, where a data and AI-driven solution like Scoutbee makes a real difference. Be it by helping procurement teams establish an in-depth understanding of their existing supply base or discovering a wider group of new suppliers quickly, Scoutbee’s added value is significant. I’m excited to support the Scoutbee team on the journey to scale their business across different markets and industries.”
The juggle is real for procurement leaders
In Karin’s opinion, the role of procurement professionals has been substantially challenging over the last two years. Tactical and strategic goals require constant juggling, and their roles have continuously expanded.
With procurement under increased pressure due to a global pandemic, geopolitical challenges, difficulties in the logistics and transportation sector – the list goes on – most procurement teams have been hyper-focused on securing supply, whilst starting to reconfigure a more resilient supply chain.
Karin’s experience in the sector spans over three decades and will help us design solutions that can meet our clients’ need for a reliable and more diverse supply base.
“Gone are the days when sourcing decisions were primarily based on quality, pricing and delivery times. With greater – and richer – data availability, organizations can ensure they are working with the best and most innovative suppliers in the supply chain sector. This is our mission at Scoutbee and Karin’s arrival could not have been more timely. We’re honored to have her on board”, added Roger Blumberg, SVP of Global Marketing at Scoutbee.
When discovery meets intelligence: ESG goals take center stage
More than ever, procurement teams need to dig deeper into their supply base to find out if they’re working with suppliers that meet environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.
In this context, suppliers must be environmentally responsible and inclusive, whilst also being cost-effective and able to deliver within a timeframe that is compatible with today’s market needs.
“As Vice President of procurement at Unilever and in her most recent roles as Chief Procurement Officer at Sanofi and the Ardagh Group, Karin has successfully designed and implemented large-scale procurement transformation programs. She is passionate about procurement’s role in driving business impact through productivity, supplier innovation, sustainability/ESG as well as data and digitalization. Our teams will surely benefit from her prowess in fostering performance excellence and sustainable innovation,” Roger concluded.
