scoutbee wins DPW Demo 2021 award in the category “Supplier Value”

scoutbee is delighted to have won the Grand Finale of Digital Procurement World’s DEMO 2021 competition in the ‘Supplier Value’ category.

As the largest start-up pitch competition in procurement, featuring 100+ start-ups from 5 different categories, DEMO 2021 brought together the most disruptive innovators that can have the greatest impact and ROI on procurement’s digital transformation. Part of the DPW conference, DEMO has in recent years become a benchmark for innovation in procurement and a game-changer event for startups.

scoutbee’s winning pitch presentation was conducted by our Co-Founder and CEO Gregor Stühler. scoutbee has experienced rapid growth over the past year, supporting more multinational organizations such as Audi, Siemens, Unilever and Linde with their strategic procurement. While not limited to any verticals, the majority of scoutbee’s 150+ customers today come from the Automotive, Machinery, Agriculture, FMCG, Energy, Pharma & Chemicals space.

scoutbee CEO Gregor Stühler comments, “We are delighted to win DEMO 2021 for supplier value – a direct result of the expertise, passion and dedication of the scoutbee team. Perhaps the most exciting aspect to see at DPW this year is the extent to which procurement is now embracing digital methods and exploring insight engines that can drive performance. There is today a real ambition across procurement teams to unlock more strategic value in vital areas of supply chains. While there’s still much work to be done, scoutbee is proud to be at the center of this movement”.

The judges of DEMO 2021 were won over by both scoutbee’s technological capability and the vast potential of its supplier insights – derived from up-to-date verified market data, which enables buyers to make smarter decisions, faster. A key part of scoutbee’s pitch showed how a transformed supplier data foundation combined with smarter and faster supplier discovery can strengthen procurement in areas such as resilience, sustainability, cost, innovation and quality.

The DEMO 2021 Judging Panel, comments, “scoutbee offers a solution to a real problem for practitioners within supplier scouting across different industries. The traction they demonstrate is impressive and the potential they are building with their data foundation is promising for future growth”.

DPW’s DEMO competition aims to build, empower and boost procurement’s startup ecosystem by bringing entrepreneurs, corporates, and investors together, helping to transform procurement into a leading corporate driver for innovation. The ‘Supplier Value’ category examines new technologies that unlock value from suppliers to improve performance, quality, innovation, and collaboration.

Also during DPW 2021, Gregor Stühler was joined in a breakout session by Alexandra Tarmo, Head of Partnerships & Social Procurement at Unilever. They explored some of the ground-breaking procurement initiatives at Unilever, such as its social procurement strategy, and how better data insights and digital supplier scouting has helped to advance their progress.
